Alberta Agriculture, Food and Rural Development Ministry
The Alberta Agriculture, Food and Rural Development Ministry (AAFRD)
launched a 30,00-page Web site, “Ropin the Web” which supports the
province's expansive farming community by providing essential
information and services on topics ranging from marketing and
engineering to crop management. Ropin' the Web hosted 1.7 million
visitors last year, however their previous Token Ring/Ethernet
network suffered from repeated breakdowns, causing delays for
researchers and impeding postings of farming developments to the Web.
To restore the efficacy of its operations and its Web site, AAFRD
sought an affordable, higher-speed network solution.
